Alicante International Airport - ALC

Alicante-Elche Airport lies 9km south-west of Alicante and, as the gateway to the Costa Blanca, is the sixth busiest airport in Spain. In 2011, two old terminals were replaced by just one modernised one, Terminal N. In this large, light-filled area, there are 40 gates split into areas B and C. Schengen area flights leave from both areas, while non-Schengen flights leave from area B only.

There is no train into Alicante from the airport, but the bus is convenient.

Bus

The bus line C6 takes you to Alicante every 20 minutes. The journey takes 30 minutes to Puerta del Mar. If you'd like to go Elche, take the bus line 1A which runs between the airport and the centre of Elche with stops in Torrellano.

Cost: EUR 3.85 for bus line C6 or EUR 1.50 for bus line 1A (note that drivers don't accept notes bigger than EUR 10 for single fares)

Tip: Don't follow the signs for ‘Buses’ to the lower (-2). This floor is for chartered buses.

Taxi

The official taxi service for the airport is Radio Taxi Elche, which has a green stripe along the side of the car. Journey time is around 15 minutes.

Cost: EUR 20-25. Fares to the airport include a supplement of EUR 4.25

There are no toilet facilities between exiting the plane and the baggage carousels. As the walk is quite long use the facilities before getting off the plane, particularly if you are travelling with children.

You will find mobile charging stations on Floor 0 of Arrivals, Floor 2 of the Departures Hall and the Commercial Area, as well as at Gates B22-23, B32-33, and C46-47.

Get some work done with free, unlimited Wi-Fi at Salon Ifach on the third floor. The lounge also offers hot meals, games for children, and two glass-walled meeting rooms. The access fee is EUR 33.90 for adults.
