Getting into Berlin
By train, bus or taxi
Train
Most people travel into the Berlin city centre by train. You'll find the train station outside of the terminal buidling, about 300m away. You can take either the S-Bahn or the Airport Express railway trains. S-Bahn trams run every 10 minutes and serve Berlin city centre (S9) and the southern ring line (S45) to Südkreuz. The Airport Express trains (RE 7 / RB 14 / RE 22) run every hour from Berlin city centre to Schönefeld Airport. The journey time from Berlin Hauptbahnhof (main station) is only 30 minutes.
Bus
Buses stop at Schönefeld Airport railway station and/or in front of Terminal A. Here you'll find express buses (X7), night buses (N7 or N60) or bus connections to Berlin's surrounding areas (734, 735, 736, 738, 741 and 742). A single ticket (Einzelfahrschein) from Berlin Schönefeld to Berlin city centre is valid for one person and lasts two hours.
Fares: EUR 2.80 for zones AB and EUR 3.40 for zones ABC
Taxi
The taxi ranks can be found outside of Terminal A. Please be aware that bogus taxi drivers may be operating outside the airport so make sure to only take cabs marked with a Taxi sign. Expect a fare of approx. EUR 40. Additionally, extra tariffs apply:
EUR 1.50 for a single journey from Schönefeld Airport
EUR 1.50 per person in cabs seating five or more people
EUR 1 for bulky items of luggage
EUR 1.50 for non-cash payments, e.g. by EC or credit card
