Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) is approximately 20 miles from downtown Detroit. The airport has two terminals: the McNamara Terminal with Concourses A, B, and C, and the North Terminal with Concourse D.
Concourse A has 1.5 miles of moving walkways but there is also an airside ExpressTram with three stops: South Station near gate A11, Terminal Station near the centre of the terminal near gates A38/40, and North Station near gate A67. The journey takes three minutes end-to-end.
Concourse B and C can only be reached from Concourse A by using the 700-foot Light Tunnel tunnel at the centre of the concourse.
In the McNamara Terminal, the Lower Level is for International Arrivals, Level 1 is Arrivals, Level 2 is security check and the walkway to Concourse A, parking, ground transportation and the Westin Hotel, Level 3 is Departures with check-in.
The North Terminal is a half-mile long. The lower level is arrivals and baggage claim and the upper level is check-in, departures, and the walkway to Concourse D.
AirRide is a convenient public bus service that runs between Ann Arbor and both terminals at Detroit International Airport. A one-way fare is USD 12 if purchased in advance or USD 15 if purchased on board. Buses arrive every 60-90 minutes and travel time is 1-2 hours.

Travellers at Detroit Metropolitan Airport can also take the SMART public bus routes. Route 125 and 261 run between Downtown Detroit and both terminals. Route 280 runs between Garden City and the North Terminal. buses arrive approximately every hour.

Taxi
Taxis are available 24 hours a day through MetroCabs and MetroCars, airport-approved service providers. Taxis can be found at the Ground Transportation Center and take approximately 30 minutes. There is an airport parking fee of USD 10.

This is the only hotel available in the airport. The Westin hotel offers guests a private security entrance and access to the McNamara Terminal at gate A36 and complimentary 24-shuttle service to the North Terminal. Meeting rooms, indoor pool, and fitness studios are also available. Rooms from USD 260 per night.

The terminals are connected by a shuttle bus that runs every 10 minutes between the North Terminal and the Westin Hotel (7 mins) and the McNamara Terminal (2 mins) and between the McNamara and North Terminals (7 mins). The free shuttle is located at the Ground Transportation Center located at each terminal.
