Getting around the airport
3 terminals and a SkyTrain
Düsseldorf Airport lies 7km north of Düsseldorf and 20km south-west of Essen. It has three terminals, connected in one long building:
- Terminal A, containing Gates A01-A16
- Terminal B, containing Gates B01-B11, an observation deck and lounges from Air France and British Airways
- Terminal C, containing Gates C01-C08, serving non-Schengen flights
The SkyTrain shuttle
You can use the SkyTrain monorail to get from the main terminal to Düsseldorf Flughafen station (for regional and long-distance trains) and car park P4 (which also leads to P5). It operates daily from 03:45-00:45, leaving every 3-7 minutes and takes six minutes end-to-end.
Be aware: There is only one ticket machine in front of the monorail so queues can be long and you cannot take luggage carts onto the SkyTrain.
Cost: EUR 2.30 (free if you have a VRR or VRS ticket, a DB special offer ticket (City plus, NRW, Schöne-Reise, Schöne-Fahrt or Schöner-Tag), a Flughafen Düsseldorf GmbH car park ticket or a ticket for the observation deck)
Shuttle bus
When the SkyTrain is not operating, you can take a shuttle bus. These leave every 20 minutes from 01:05-03:25. Journey time is eight minutes.
Location: Düsseldorf Flughafen Station, arrivals, ground level, opposite door E
