Getting around the airport

Single terminal

Krakow Airport is located in Balice, 11 km west of Krakow. The express train to the city centre takes 18 minutes. The terminal serves all-year-round, 24 hours a day, both domestic as well as international flights. The expected maximum capacity of the terminal is up to 8 million passengers handled in a year. It is also possible to handle transfer passengers irrespective of the routes (Schengen/Non-Schengen destinations). The terminal has a new luggage handling system and a roofed footbridge connecting the terminal to a hotel, a multi-level parking lot and the railway station, with a direct railway link to Kraków Główny by Koleje Małopolskie.

Tip: Yellow telephones are available for passengers to make free phone calls to landline and mobile phones within Poland.

Getting into the city

Public transport, Train or Taxi

Public buses

Two regular bus lines run between the airport and the city: Bus N. 208 and Bus N.292. Besides, there is one night line: Bus N.902. Cost: PLN 4.00 1 person single trip, PLN 5.00 1 person 60 minutes, PLN 20 1 person 24 hours. Tickets can be purchased from the ticket machine at the passenger terminal - arrivals hall, level 0.


Train

The new Krakow Airport train station is located near the passenger terminal, at the rear of the multistorey car park. Travelling by train is the fastest way to get from the airport to the city center. The journey takes about 17 minutes. Cost:

  • Kraków Airport - Kraków Main Train Station: PLN 8,00
  • Kraków Airport - Wieliczka Salt Mine: PLN 11,00

You can buy a ticket in the following locations:

  • passenger terminal, arrivals area, level 0 (ticket machine)
  • train station (ticket machine)
  • train (train conductor - CASH ONLY)


Taxi

You will find taxis right outside of the terminal. The charges within the zones are flat regardless of the duration of the ride. Taxis accept credit cards.
