Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport is located 30 kilometres southwest of the city of Tehran. The airport has a single terminal, Terminal 1, with two currently under construction.
Terminal 1 has three levels, with a basement, departure and arrival halls at the ground level, as well as a mezzanine arrivals floor. The ground floor offers ground transportation, a bank, mobile charging stations, and houses Customs and baggage claim. This is also the location of the security checkpoint, passport control, and departure gates.
Taxi rank is located outside the terminal, the journey time to central Tehran is around 80 minutes and depends on traffic. The fare is around IRR 400.000 (around USD 14) for a basic vehicle. Taxis can be booked in advance from Airport Seiro Safar.
Buses
Regular buses to the city centre are available from outside the terminal. However, it is recommended to take a cab.
Shuttle buses run between Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport and the nearest metro station.
