Getting around the airport

Two terminals

Trondheim Airport, Værnes is situated 19 km east of the city of Trondheim, Norway. The airport consists of two terminals; Terminal A and Terminal B.

Terminal A is used for domestic flights and Terminal B for international flights. Check-in desks are located in Terminal A.

Terminal A
Terminal A is split into two levels:

- Ground level: This is the Arrivals Hall. This level houses domestic arrivals, check-in counters, ATMs, a bookstore, dining facilities, airlines offices, food, drink and retail concessions.

- Upper level: This level houses domestic departures, Gates 31-35 and food and drink concessions.

Terminal B
Terminal B has a single level:

- Main level: This level houses both international arrivals and departures as well as Gates 36-39, check-in counters, duty-free stores, administration offices, food, drink and retail concessions.

Travelling between the terminals

Passengers at the airport can easily transfer from one terminal to another within a short walk since they are located in the same terminal building.

Getting into Trondheim

Bus, train or taxi

Bus
Flybussen is an airport bus service that serves all hotels in Trondheim city centre. They depart every 10 minutes, and they need approximately 50 minutes to reach the city. The Værnes-Ekspressen buses depart a bit less frequent than Flybussen but make an additional stop at Moholt Studenby where many international students live.

Location: Terminal A, before security, outside the arrivals hall, ground level
Cost: NOK 130 one-way, NOK 220 round-trip

Train
Both the NSB local train 'Trondheim – Steinkjer' and NSB intercity train 'Trondheim - Bodø' can be used to reach the city. The journey takes approximately 35 minutes to the city center. Travellers can purchase tickets from the vending machine in the airport terminal or on board, albeit for an extra fee.

Location: Trondheim Airport Train Station (Vaernes) adjacent to the terminal building
Cost: NOK 86 one-way, NOK 172 round-trip

Taxi
A taxi transfer from the airport to Trondheim downtown takes approximately 35 minutes.
