Malaga Airport - AGP

Malaga Airport, gateway to the Costa del Sol, is the fourth most important airport in Spain, after Madrid, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca. It has three terminals, but Terminals 1 and 2 are rarely used. It's likely you'll be flying in and out of Terminal 3. There's also a fourth General Aviation terminal for private planes and a Cargo Terminal.

Terminal 3 (hosts most flights)

This is a modern terminal with good eating options. Outside, you'll find a transportation hub for buses, trains, and taxis, located on both the ground level and Level 1.

There are three Piers, B, C and D. Pier B handles non-European flights, C handles non-Schengen EU flights while D services Schengen flights. 

• Ground level: arrivals
• Level 1: departures
• Level 2: airport VIP lounge for business class and paying passengers

Terminal 2

This terminal is currently undergoing renovations and lacks many modern conveniences such as air conditioning and good restaurants – there is only one café and an Upper Crust. It's unlikely you'll travel through here, but if you do, you're better off spending your time in Terminal 3, which is accessible after security by turning right on the Level 1 of Terminal 2.

• Level 0 (ground floor): arrivals 
• Level 1 is the lower level of Pier B
• Level 2: departures

Terminal 1 (not in use)

Retired with the opening of Terminal 3 in 2010. Used as a backup terminal.

Málaga Airport lies 8km miles south-west of the city centre.

Train

The best option is to take a local train to the city. Line C1 of the RENFE suburban trains connects the airport to downtown Málaga and other locations on the Costa del Sol. The trains run every 20 minutes and the trip takes approximately 15 minutes to the city centre.

Take the train towards Fuengirola for Torremolinos and Benalmadena and get off at Maria Zambrano (unless otherwise instructed), which is the main transport hub for the city.

Cost: EUR 1.80 to Málaga, EUR 2.70 to Fuengirola
Location: Terminal 3, arrivals, ground level. The entrance to the station is directly outside the doors. 

If you're going further, for example to Marbella, you'll need to take a bus or hire a rental car from the airport.

Bus

The A Express Airport Line 75 takes you to the city centre in just 15 minutes. The buses operate 24 hours daily and you can buy tickets on the bus, however, they only accept cash.

Cost: EUR 3 one-way
Location: Terminal 3, arrivals, ground level. 

Taxi

Taxis are white with an orange TAXI sign on the roof. They are metered, but it still may be an idea to get a quote first. Be aware that in the summer months, it can be hard to get a taxi, and the heat can be unbearable while waiting for one. 

Cost: Expect to pay a minimum fare of EUR 20 for the journey
Location: Terminal 3, outside arrivals

The comfortable VIP Lounge offers catering, free Wi-Fi, newspapers, fax services and meeting rooms. Travellers can also order meals from the Sea Food and Delibar de Dani Garcia and have it delivered to the lounge. 

Cost: EUR 33.90 adults, EUR 15.60 children from 6-10 years, children under 6 enter for free.

Location: Terminal 2, after security, level 2, near the boarding area (take the elevator from the first floor next to LOL Sweets, across from Gates D42-43)

Opening hours: 06:00-23:00 daily

There's a nursing room for new mums and a Children’s Play Area for young children on Terminal 2, Level 1, immediately after security control to the right.

Older children may enjoy the Museum of Air Navigation and Transport which is located in the Plaza Pierre George Latecoere, outside Terminal 1. Admission is free.

Hours: Tue-Sat 10:00-14:00, Tue afternoons from17:00-20:00.
